My name is Parvin Akhter, and I am a 45-year-old mother of two. I live in Bhola, where my daughter, 11, goes to school. My son, who is 18, is also part of my family, although he’s had to pause his education due to our financial challenges. I have been the sole provider for my family for many years. For the past three years, I’ve been running a small tea and cigarette stall on the corner of Road 108. While this work has kept my family afloat, it’s becoming increasingly difficult as I grow older. The physical toll of standing on the streets every day has started to take its toll on my health, and I fear that if I don’t expand my business soon, it may not be sustainable. The funds raised will go towards transitioning my small street stall into a proper store, where I can continue to provide for my family while ensuring a safer and more stable environment for myself and my children.
